New books list and acquisitions:
The latest new books list was published on May 12.
Since July 2005, 2,158 books/videos new to our Greeneville collection have been cataloged and sent to the shelves. Another 490 were added in Knoxville giving us a year-to-date total of 2,648.
Statistics:
Physical use: A total of 54,319 people physically employed the two non-museum libraries of Tusculum College this school year, with only 99 fewer visiting the Knoxville branch than the main library in Greeneville. This total is 5,473 more than the same period one year ago.
Circulation: 2,992 print books were circulated by the two libraries, 870 more than last year, though still nothing to cheer about. Electronic book use fell off from a total of 4,176 last year to 3,421 this year.
Reference: 5,195 reference transactions occurred this school year, 950 more than a year earlier.
Information literacy/library use sessions: As of end of April, these demonstrated healthy growth from 152 a year ago to 207 in 0506.
Website visits: Subscription database searches were up by 16,276 this year, while overall visits to the library website grew by 15,949.
Interlibrary loans: In 0506, 142 items were traded between campuses or obtained from other libraries. Though a small number, this represents an increase of 122 items from a year ago, another sure sign of a blossoming in library use and scholarship.
