Hours for summer:

 

 Subject to change end of May, the following summer schedule begins the day after graduation: Mon., 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Tues.-Fri., 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., 12-5 p.m., Sun., Closed.

 

ACA Workshop:

 

  Courtesy of Appalachian College Association, Jack Smith will be attending a 3-day computer workshop at Virginia Tech on May 26-28. Many other free faculty workshops are available and can be reviewed at the ACA Web home page (http://www.aca-vt.edu).

 

Guest speaker:

 

  In partnership with the Greeneville-Greene County Public Library, Tate Library will sponsor an appearance by noted HIV-physician Dr. Abraham Verghese at Byrd Auditorium on Sunday evening August 10. The lecture is free to all. More details on time, etc. will appear later in The Greeneville Sun.

  We recommend strongly the cutely-named Dogpile multiple search engine (at Dogpile.com and yes, the search command is "Fetch") and the helpful Researchpaper.com (see back of this page).

 

Stats:

 

During the year's first quarter, tech services reports a total of 326 new books (154 gift) and 62 videos were processed; 2,131 ERIC documents added; 60.24 volunteer hours worked; and the Bibbase OPAC count is now 43,373. In Feb-March, public services reveals 73 Interlibrary Loans were sent/received, 5 class presentations made, 704 books circulated, and with time off for breaks, average daily attendance was 103.2 in February and 74.4 in March. April stats not compiled as of R & P publication date.
